Frequently Asked Questions
What tech do I need for online lessons?
Do you offer in-person lessons?
Lessons are exclusively online right now in accordance with state and county guidelines for businesses. When restrictions shift, we’ll return to offering in person, socially distant lessons at our studio space in Livermore, CA.
What books and materials will I need?
For a free trial lesson, you just need yourself, a device with zoom installed, and preferrably a piano or keyboard! If you don't have an instrument yet, please contact us to give us a heads up so we can plan accordingly. If you have prior lesson experience, we’d love to see what books you’ve been using and hear you play a piece you love, even if it’s not perfect.
I don't have a piano or keyboard yet. How soon do I need to buy one?
After your trial lesson, we'll dive right in to learning songs across the full range of the piano, so you'll need a full-size acoustic or digital instrument right away. If you need help locating a suitable instrument, please contact us and we're happy to walk you through the process!
How long will it take to learn that famous song I've always wanted to play?
That depends on what song it is and how much time you spend in practice! Shorter beginning pieces may only take us a week or two. Longer, more complex classical and pop songs you hear on the radio involve lots of new skill development along the way, so those tend to be much longer term projects. If you have a particular piece you or your child is dying to play, let us know so we can help guide you toward that goal!
What times do you have available for lessons?
We're almost full for the fall! Our last open slot is Thursdays, 6-6:45. If that time doesn't work for you, please contact us to join our waitlist and receive notification as new times open!
Adult lessons are scheduled in the mornings and after 7pm. Because adult lessons are on a flexible schedule, exact times may vary. Please contact us for current adult lesson openings!
